Garment

Heavy button-up moss-stitch cardigan, with rib-stitch placket and neck, and patch pockets.

The cardigan is made from a soft lambswool — “biscuit” in colour: a sort of light brown. It is a very high quality wool, and has been spun, oiled and twisted by a mill in Yorkshire, which has been in the wool trade since the mid-1700s.

The buttons are real horn. They are dark matte tortoiseshell in colour, and are made at a 150-year old button factory in the Midlands.

The cardigan is made by a family-run firm near Nottingham, which has been knitting cardigans and other things since the mid-70s.
