The scarf is made from a soft lambswool. It is a very high quality wool, and has been spun, oiled and twisted by a mill in Yorkshire, which has been in the wool trade since the mid-1700s.

The scarf has been knitted by a family-run firm in Nottinghamshire, which has been knitting scarves and much else since the 1970s.
