Sizing
The crewneck fits true to size, and thus the mannequin — a standard 40 — is wearing M. The sleeves are meant to be turned back when worn — reflected in the measurements below.
XS | S | M | L | XL | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
To fit chest | 36 | 38 | 40 | 42 | 44 |
Pit-to-pit | 20½ | 21½ | 22½ | 23½ | 24½ |
Back length | 25 | 25¼ | 25½ | 25¾ | 26 |
Sleeve from centre-back | 32 | 32½ | 33 | 33½ | 34 |
The method of sleeve construction, with the sleeve cut as one continuous panel from neck to cuff, means the shoulders accommodate and drape smoothly over human contours of every shape and size — rendering a shoulder measurement both impossible and irrelevant.

So they say
I just received the crewneck, and I have to say, this has to be the finest sweater I've ever seen, let alone worn. It's a work of art, and the photos really don't do it justice. The stitching is so satisfyingly chunky and the wool incomparably soft, even directly against the skin. I laughed at your note about washing, I can't imagine ever subjecting this to a washing machine! It is just in time for the dip in temperature today.
Excuse my language, but it's flipping incredible.
The heavy crewneck has completely surpassed my expectations. The workmanship is superb. The wool is incredibly soft and the colour / texture definitely holds one's interest. Fit is perfect, and even allows for playing around with the sleeve-length given that it does stretch.
